Talking with and Listening to our Dogs

Talking with our companions and listening to what they have to tell us, is not far fetched. If we calm and center ourselves while in their presence, it is amazing on what you will actually hear!

Watch the expressions on your dog's face. With body language, words spoken aloud are not necessary. An enormous amount of communication takes place just with thoughts. Messages will come to you from them, all sorts of communication. You will pick up on their emotions, their needs and their wants just from mindful moments.

In an experiment done by the late Russian neurophysiologist Vladimir Bechterev, it was discovered that he could give mental commands to his own dog without being visually seen by the dog. The dog would carry out what was asked from him every time.

Vladimir came up with these conclusions:

Dogs can be directly influenced by thought

Dogs need no direct contact between the sender and themselves

Dogs can be directly influenced without any presence of signs

The simple act of touching your dog in a caring and gentle manner, feeling the bond between you and them, becomes a channel through which energy, warmth and closeness seems to flow from one to the other. Dog health isssues, dog information on emotions, even dog health problems in your older dog, will all come to surface if you just listen.

There is a spiritual and emotional connection we can nurture with our pets, that will lead us into love. This connectedness holds a deep respect between companion and dog, leading into a beautiful relationship that will touch our souls. Honoring this connection is powerful and we can have our lives deeply enriched by it.

When I lost my two dogs both to cancer, in their last few weeks we had many conversations. Cancer in dogs can truly change many things. I have had many conversations with them over the years we were together, and I can truly say, listen and you will hear with your heart what they have to tell you. You will never regret it.
