Acupuncture for Dogs
Acupuncture for dogs, cows, horses, pigs and chickens dates back to 2303 BC to the present in China. It was in the nineteenth century that acupuncture was introduced to the United States. It showed a very skeptical medical community that acupuncture was a valuable clinical modality in treating pain and other problems.
The points at which the needles are inserted are described as meridians or channels. These acupoints communicate with the body organs through the tissues or channels. There are 361 traditional acupuncture points located on these channels.
There has been clinical evidence that veterinary acupuncture has clearly helped many dogs with reproductive disorders, musculoskeletal problems, pulmonary and gastrointestinal disorders, neurological disorders, and dermatological diseases. This is the most thoroughly field-tested technique known to medicine.
A homeostatic condition occurs by the adjustment of energy levels through the stimulation of specific acupuncture points, or combination of points, whereby allowing healing to occur.
Acupuncture should not be performed on an animal immediately after a heavy meal, a fatigued patient, a patient that is very frightened or angry or emotional, or is pregnant. If the animal cannot be comfortably restrained, and observed during treatment, acupuncture is not advised at that time.
Acupuncture can relieve many ailments from pain to neurological disorders. It has been proven effective in treating degenerative myelopathy, spondylosis and fibrocartilaginous emboli. Arthritis and inter vertebral disk disease have also been profoundly helped from acupuncture.

Sometimes the most unusual or unthought of treatment can undo years of pain and suffering. Coming from a human perspective on this and an animal perspective, I can honestly say I am amazed! The incredible amount of pain relief I received from only two treatments is astonishing! In addition to this, watching my dogs return to normal and be free from pain, is truer than it gets. Animals don't lie. They also have no reason to fake it.
This is one treatment I seriously recommend to anyone with a dog that has a health issue including an older dog, to dog arthritis. Amaze yourself and say good-bye to the drugs! Your dog health care will change completely.
